Last week I spent the week in South Eastern Arizona doing some quail hunting with friends. The weather was perfect, the dogs did OK, and we had a great trip. Unfortunately the quail numbers were down this year. We were able to find a few Scaled and Gambles quail. We didn’t locate any Mearns quail from what we have heard there numbers are way down. We stayed near Sonoita and hunted for a few days. Then we caught up with Charlie Rose at the Field Trial and Robert picked up a new male puppy. While at the trial I also got to meet Ed Tilison and his chain gang of dogs. Ed was very cordial and it was fun to rub shoulders with some of the field trial guys. All in all it was a great trip. For me I think it was a much needed get away and man did I laugh. It was great spending time with some close friends Robert & Kent. Thanks for going guys! I can’t wait for next’s years trip.
