The Brittany is one of the smartest breeds of dogs I have worked with. In the pictures below this young dog Sadie is coming along very nicely in her training. She is a very smart dog. With just a few sessions of using the whoa post she picked up what I was asking her to do, which was Whoa! She learned very quickly to kennel in her cage mostly because my wife and son would toss in dogie treats and she picked up heel in just a few short sessions. I truly believe that each dog has it’s own personality and discovering Sadie’s has been so much fun. I can’t wait to hunt over her this fall especially on our trip to South Dakota.
In the below video you get an idea of when a pup breaks point how you should pick that put up and put it back where it smelt the bird, doing this with consistency and repetition will help pup realize that when they smell birds they should hold point and stay still.
Here are a few more Brittany’s we are working with at the time. These two have a lot of potential and drive. It will be fun to watch them develop over the next few months. Trey has a hard hunting personality and can really get out and move. Zoey is a little spit fire with lots of energy! She one of those dogs that bounces off the walls when she gets into birds.
